Is Olive Really Tony Soprano?

October 31, 2007 · No Comments

Tessa: So maybe we’re watching the Sopranos a little too much lately but it’s occurred to me that Olive doesn’t take after me as much as she takes after Tony Soprano. Alot. Owwwww. That’s right. Owww. Like Tony, Olive has her good days. Today, for example, is a good day. I’ve given up on her diet for now because it’s hopeless. Like Tony, when she’s well fed she’s happy even if she is lugging a gut that hangs on the ground that makes everyone think she’s pregnant. I don’t think people think Tony looks pregnant but nobody can argue with the fact that the guy is corpulent. So what? Makes him happy. Makes Olive happy. She doesn’t give a crap. Olive is having a great day.

Olive is also a very complex character as is our friend Mr. Soprano. For example, it was hard to know where she was at this morning when she was stalking me, staring at me like a deadly assasin, daring me to pass her in the hallway. You just never know when she’s going to take you out. Even this morning I was having trouble reading her so I did a big detour around the bathroom to avoid the double-fisted swipe that leaves my ankles ribboned in blood and scratches. I guess it’s better than a bullet in the head or wiring around your neck.

Olive seems to have gotten over her temporary bad patch this morning and we have now made amends or rather she’s granted me a day pass of sorts. A day pass meaning this morning I will be left to wander around our home freely without fear of being stalked, beaten and scratched. Today Olive wants love. Lots of it. That means she wants to sit in your lap, love, be loved abd fawned over for however long she chooses to be the sole object of unconditional adoration. Sound like Tony? That’s what I mean. He can be a crazy lovable guy too. It almost makes you forget that he’s a deadly assassin like Olive. Tony let me introduce you to Olive. Olive, Tony.
